Lead the setup and operation of anesthesia equipment for complex cardiac surgeries, including valve replacements, coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), heart transplants and lung transplants
Support anesthesiologists with advanced airway management, regional blocks, and placement of invasive monitoring devices (e.g., arterial lines, CVPs, PA catheters).
Monitor and manage critical equipment during high-risk procedures, including TEE, rapid infusion systems, and blood/fluid warmers.
Act as a first responder during intraoperative anesthesia-related emergencies, providing immediate technical support.
Supervise maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of anesthesia machines and monitoring systems.
Ensure readiness of specialized cardiac anesthesia tools, such as BIS monitors, depth of anesthesia monitors, and infusion devices.
Coordinate with biomedical engineering and supply chain for equipment servicing and inventory control.
Maintain and enforce compliance with sterilization and infection control protocols.
Lead, mentor, and train junior anesthesia technicians and new staff on procedures, equipment use, and best practices.
Assign daily duties, oversee performance, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Serve as liaison between anesthesia providers and surgical teams, ensuring smooth workflow and readiness for procedures.
Document equipment checks, supply usage, and procedural notes accurately in electronic records.
Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with development of SOPs and checklists for anesthesia support in cardiac procedures.
