Mr. Murugan been associated with us for more than 5years and he has more experience by assisting in Cardio Thoracic Surgeries and Cardiac Transplants
He provides advanced clinical support in surgical services, working collaboratively with surgeons, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
His role involves both pre- and post-operative care, as well as first-assist responsibilities in the operating room
He also serves as a mentor and leader for juniors and contributes to continuous process improvements and clinical training
His Key Responsibilities are
Surgical Duties:
First assist in a variety of surgical procedures (general, orthopedic, cardiovascular, etc.).
Manage intraoperative tasks, including tissue retraction, suturing, hemostasis, and wound closure.
Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring all protocols are followed.
Perform bedside procedures as needed (e.g., chest tube insertion, central lines).
Pre- and Post-Operative Care:
Conduct patient assessments, obtain histories, and perform physical exams.
Formulate and implement treatment and care plans in coordination with the surgical team.
Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care.
Monitor patients’ recovery, manage complications, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Leadership & Oversight:
Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior physician assistants and surgical staff.
Serve as a liaison between surgical teams and other hospital departments.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and protocol development.
Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Documentation & Administration:
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the EMR system.
Assist with surgical scheduling, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Participate in department meetings, case reviews, and quality assurance activities.
